TAKE CARE

TAKE CARE

This guide will help you to keep your coats and jackets in good condition while being mindful of the environment. As each product has specific instructions for washing and cleaning, it is important to follow the symbols on the care labels.

FABRIC

Each garment is crafted with precision and care. We prioritize sourcing and producing materials locally within the European
Union, mindful of our environmental impact at every step. To ensure that your garment lasts a long time, we recommend to avoid contact with oil or alcohol-based substances. Sharp surfaces might harm the fabric.

ZIPPER

An integral part of our commitment to quality is the selection of top-notch polished metal and plastic zippers. In the case that your metal zipper is not running smoothly after a while, we recommend to paraffin it. Distribute the wax evenly on the chain of the zipper. Then close the zipper and pull it up and down a few times. Finally, brush away the excess wax from the open zipper to avoid stains on your coat or jacket.

DOWN FEATHERS

We exclusively source our RDS (responsible down standard) certified goose and duck down from the Italian company MINARDI PIUME renowned for providing the highest
90/10 quality down on the market. As down is a natural product it might happen that darker feathers mix up with the white feathers and show through light-colored fabric. So, what at first might look like a stain on your coat or jacket is simply a dark feather. By tapping and pushing with your hands, it can
get into the lower part of your down coat or jacket and will no longer be
visible.

SHAKE UP

If you wear your coat or jacket a lot, you may notice that some parts of the down filling is starting to feel flat. To prevent this, shake up your coat or jacket regularly. Through shaking, the down stays soft and airy and is distributed evenly in the chambers.

FUR

We responsibly source the soft rabbit fur which is used for the hoods and linings of our parkas. Fur is a natural product and occasional loss of hair is in the nature of the product and it demands, like all fur products, more care than usual. To keep the fur well maintained, brush it regularly with a fine metal steel brush. Also make sure to take out the fur before dry cleaning.

WIPE IT OFF

Clean the stained areas of your coats and jackets, such as neck and cuffs, with a damp sponge or cloth. If possible, avoid soaking your coat or jacket in water. To remove stubborn stains, makeup, or sunscreen, use a mild liquid detergent or dish soap. Make sure to thoroughly rinse your jacket afterwards with clear water. If your jacket soaked up too much water, water spots can appear. No worries, just wipe with your damp sponge over the watermarks. Repeat this procedure until the water spots have disappeared.

FRESHEN UP

Hang your coat or jacket outside to freshen them up. Avoid strong sunlight, as this could discolor the fabric. Washing your clothes is a process that gradually wears away your garments while consuming water and energy. Sometimes all you need to do is hanging them outside and brushing them off to get them fresh again.

WASH IT

Washing at low temperatures is easier on garments, prevents them from shrinking, doesn’t fade colors, and consumes less energy. For washing our coats and jackets, we recommend a wool program with a maximum of 800 rotations and the use of mild liquid detergent. Tumble dry your down coat or jacket is mandatory.

TUMBLE DRY

Our down coats or jackets necessarily need to be tumble-dried after washing. We recommend the use of laundry or tennis balls to help fluff up the down as it dries.

PROFESSIONAL CLEANING

If you need a professional to wash your coat or jacket, look for cleaners with suitable dry cleaning systems that use technologies that are more respectful of the environment

STORING

Taking time to store your coats and jackets will preserve your seasonal collection. Dry clean or wash and fully dry your coats and jackets before storing them for the warmer months. Hang your clean coat or jacket on a sturdy hanger to help it
keep its shape – don’t fold it, avoid storing in a box. A garment bag protects from dust and sunlight. Your coats and jackets should be stored in a cool, dry place to prevent damage from heat and moisture.

WATER-REPELLENCY

Our coats and jackets are water-repellent but not waterproof. They easily withstand a rain shower and keep you safe and dry, but they are not designed to be in heavy rain or severe weather over a long time. For being qualified waterproof, the seams have to be sealed with tape and the zipper has to have a rubber tape, so the rain does not enter through the seams or the zipper

IRONING

If you spot some creases, they can be removed by ironing at max. 1 point which means a maximum of 110°C/230°F. Iron your coat or jacket without using any steam and pressure.

REPAIR

Our coats and jackets pass through several quality controls during production. However, they are still an everyday item and minor repairs might be necessary from time to time. This preserves the life of your clothing. For instance, if buttons are
coming off, they can be refastened. If you do not have the necessary skills, please find someone who does. If you have discovered a production problem, please contact us and we will find a solution together.

RECYCLE

Once you no longerwear your coat or jacket, you can give it a second life by reselling it or bringing it to a donation station. Someone else will enjoy it!
